December 2001 Issue

Merry Christmas! We are grateful to God for your continued prayer for us and we pray that God's blessing will always be upon you. The Lord has done so many wonderful things with CBF over the past semester. Indeed, there is no greater thing than knowing Jesus Christ, HE IS EVERYTHING!

MORE WORKERS, MORE STUDENTS MORE GRACE!

Two Two new more workers are added to the CBF staff. The first is Angelie Gallo from Manapla Fellowship Baptist Church, a commerce graduate who studied at Doane Baptist Seminary for one year. She commits to work for this school year. Another is Matthew Kappen, who came September 19,2001 through the invitation of our short-term ABWE missionary, Matthew Dillane. He is staying for two months. All in all CBF has six staff dividing the working load and resulting in a more fruitful ministry.

By His grace many students are coming to the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ through many different evangelistic activities including personal & classroom evangelism, fellowship, small group, dorm and boarding house bible studies. We also give thanks for the impact of discipleship ministry, which have been maximized by the help of our two American workers.

CBF Staff: Philip, Mathew Dillane, Mathew Kappen,
                    Angelie, Rhea, Jessie
PLEASE PRAY FOR:

1. The Staff will be preserved and improve physically and spiritually for His Utmost Glory.

2. More students to reach, disciple and join our churches.

3. The financial need of P10,000/month to be divided by four staff for their living allowance (board & lodging, transportation) and ministry expenses. We are praying to rent a P4000/month room in front of University of Saint La Salle (USLS) to serve as gathering place for CBF USLS & office of CBF. There are more or less ten churches who consistently support financially and a few individuals to CBF.

MAY YOU CONTINUE TO BE OUR PARTNER IN PROCLAIMING CHRIST. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

MISSION IN SIPALAY CITY
We held our 4th CLC (College Leadership Camp) in Sipalay City October 28- November 1, 2001. CLC is designed to train & equip students for Christian leadership & missions. One of the highlights of our camp was conducting classroom evangelism and follow-up for three days at Gil Montilla Extension High School. We were excited for the opportunity given to us to proclaim Christ. Our joy became greater when about a hundred students attended at Sipalay Baptist Church, for the closing fellowship of our high school outreach.

God was really at work in that camp. There was even a camper named Rio who asked me to go home early because she was so touched and challenged to proclaim Christ with her unbelieving love ones and relatives in Sagay City that she couldn't wait for two more days to finish the camp. We are rejoicing to know that God gave her the passion and the opportunity to share Christ with her family and friends.

Our Camp's theme was "Proclaiming His Grace". One striking thought that we learned was "God calls us to serve Him, not because He needs us, but because we need Him." We are unworthy servants; called for salvation and service only by His grace.
